In line with this year’s theme, “Engaging the Youth in Shaping the Future of the Philippine Culinary Heritage and Gastronomy”, ten (10) Girl Scouts from different international schools in Madrid joined Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier in discovering Filipino food at the Embassy on 26 April 2024 as it celebrates the National Food Month.

The students, ranging from ages 7 to 9 years old, participated in the weekly flag-lowering ceremony held at the Philippine Embassy and paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier. These students have chosen to represent the Philippines in an International Fair to be held in celebration of the World Thinking Day on 28 April 2024 at the American School of Madrid (ASM).

The Ambassador eagerly provided support for these children’s Philippine booth by sharing some Philippine displays and materials. The Ambassador also invited the Girl Scouts in a Filipino merienda to showcase Philippine food in celebration of the National Food Month. The Girl Scouts were accompanied by their parents and teachers.
